Hello, I am Rebecca Harper and I have been an Associate Lecturer at Camberwell College of Arts teaching on the CCW Foundation Diploma, Painting Specialism since 2019. Outside of UAL I am a Painter by practice, whilst also teaching on the Postgraduate programme at the Royal Drawing school, Turps Art School on their Correspondence course working in a higher education context, and until very recently (sadly due to a course closure), visiting associate lecturer on BA Drawing into Print at Bristol University of the West of England.
Through this PgCert in Art, Design and Communication, I hope to broaden my awareness of both the micro and macro contexts within Higher education, and thus identify and build a much better understanding of diverse contemporary practices which I can apply to my own teaching.
I wish to develop my approaches by interrogating my own relationship and positionality towards my teaching practice. I hope this will contribute towards building my confidence within group contexts, and creating inclusive spaces, in order to identify opportunities in which I may be able to further and better support, enhance, develop and inspire students in their experience of higher education.
